2023-2024_personal_project_digital_workbook.pdfWhat is the Personal Project?
The personal project is the culminating event for students in the MYP that is intended to allow students the opportunity to showcase skills that they have learned and developed during their time in the programme. The project allows 10th Grade students to choose a topic of their choice and requires them to reflect on their ability to initiate, manage, and produce their own work.
The Personal Project has three components.
Completion of the MYP and awarding of the MYP Certificate are based on the successful completion of each component. Each piece depends on the thorough completion of the other pieces; therefore, you should commit a significant amount of time to each aspect of the personal project.

The Personal Project has three components.
- Allows students to implement the knowledge they gained through their research. Shows the tangible outcome of the process - what you create and make.
- Allows for demonstration of Approaches to Learning Skills, explanation and documentation of product, and reflection on the learning process in a written format.
- Oral presentation that includes commentary and evidence on the process and actions taken, and a reflection on what you've learned.
