Cause for Paws
Cause for Paws of North Carolina is a non-profit organization dedicated to leading the development of sensitivity and responsibility for non-human animals in our communities and neighborhoods. We protect, nurture, and find homes for unwanted and displaced canines and felines. We have a NO-KILL policy and we partner with other animal wellness organizations who maintain a working no-kill policy.

AnimalKind - ReTails Thrift Shop
Founded in 1998, AnimalKind grew out of a national need to address the overpopulation of adoptable cats and dogs in shelters. Over one million sheltered animals are euthanized in the U.S. annually, just to make room for more- over 71,000 of those occurred in NC in 2018.
AnimalKind owns and operates ReTails Thrift Shop, located at 2821 Spring Forest Road, Suite 103, Raleigh 27616. 100% of net profits from ReTails Thrift Shop support AnimalKind’s programs. Be a part of the solution to the overpopulation of cats and dogs in NC and their subsequent euthanasia in shelters. AnimalKind provides programs and resources to help end the unnecessary euthanasia in NC shelters by helping families spay and neuter their dogs and cats. We are not a shelter or a clinic, so no animal experience is necessary to volunteer with us.
